Lifelong JRRT fan. Have read The Hobbit and LOTR countless times. Saw it yesterday in 2-D and was not disappointed at all.
The definitely tinkered with the story a bit for pacing, and the elements that were added did not bother me in the least. Thought the scenes w/ a certain wizard really set up the next two and I am much less apprehensive about them "stretching" this out.
Dale/Erebor were fantastic.
9.5/10.
Spoilers:
It is interesting they have made Thorin a much more sympathetic and noble character. I actually like the treatment and should make the final act that much more powerful.
