Look, dude. I don't know what your fricking problem is, but don't make it a personal attack on me. . . So, I don't tip 20% for mediocre/bad service? If that makes me cheap, then so be it. ETA: One thing that really ticks me off in a nice restaurant is having to ask for a refill, or having to flag down my waiter to get his attention (rather than him frequenting my table as he should). Things like that cut into the 20%.

This isn't what you said, pal. You said that above a certain threshold, you hit a "flat rate" for tipping. I was merely poking fun at you for it. It seems silly, that's all.

Sure, if the service is bad, don't tip 20%, but don't screw over your waiter just because you believe there should be a salary cap.
