Dude, just think a little bit about what your hypothesis is....that the bears led to the deer leaving.

Either the bear is a threat to the deer, which means that the bear you are seeing are eating the deer that you arent....you see, the bear wouldnt be there to eat a deer that does not exist. If he had run your deer off because he was eating them, he would not be there anymore..he would be with them, the deer you arent seeing.

or

the bear is out browsing your herd and forcing them to leave. If that is the case you have a land issue, and need to manage it to have more browse and food sources to support a deer herd, so that one 250 pound bear will not put you out of commission.

Either way, you dont have a bear problem.

Or the presence of bear where they haven't been previously may deter deer from hanging around if they have somewhere else to go?

But your first hypothesis is probably right. One bear has probably eaten every deer , rabbit, squirrel and collered dog within 2 miles , because that's exactly what I've been saying all along. And he will probably die of starvation because there's nothing more to eat. Oh, and bear don't tear stuff up. Guess I've only seen that in a movie.
