I may just go sit on the levee tomorrow & see what happens. Even a dozen snow decoys would be better than nothing...

yes I will prolly be out there tomorrow, thursday & friday. The guy we are leasing from may be putting out a spread of decoys sometime in the next couple of days, not real sure when...

I would argue that point with you. You need a LOT of white decoys (rags or shells) to decoy snow geese, unless you just plan on pass shooting.

I did this for years....Many years we tried setting out ~200 rags/shells with very little produced. Got some advice from a very experience snow goose guide and bumped the number up to about 700 rags, not one shell. Birds fell from the sky into the spread.

I know you said you have birds in the area, but even if they're on your land, walking in will scare them off. You need a large spread to pull them back down. Whe they move, they'll settle where they see other birds, and not just 15-20 of them. They'll be looking for another large number to hook up with.

Putting out a big spread isn't easy for a small crew, but with 5-6 guys willing to spend 30-45 minutes each setting out 100-150 rags each, it isn't bad. It isn't as much work as carrying out 80-100 snow geese either.

I'd be curious to know which property you're hunting also. Your description of the locations sounds very familiar....VERY!
