Playing 9 on 11 and still needing to be offsides to win? Good God you are more delusional than I thought.

Not really sure what you are asking here.

Wasn't that Scholes's first bad tackle of the match? Remember, I didn't start watching until after the equalizer.

Did you watch the gif? That was the 10th minute. He had two tackles that were yellows before he actually got a yellow late in the match.

I know that was the tenth minute, I can freaking read.
I'm asking if that was the first yellow-worthy tackle.
ETA: Scholes got booked in the 55th minute.

Yes, from what I can remember. That was a yellow at minimum regardless. Then he had another one right after half that even the announcer was questioning why he wasn't booked. Then he actually got carded in the 55th.

Seeing that tackle for the first time and it looks like a red to me. Doesn't look like he even went for the ball. Then again, it is Scholes.

Yep. Definitely card-worthy. Probably too early for a straight red, though.

Eh....I hate United more than any of you, but I'm not so sure its a red. Then again I'm definitely more liberal when it comes to tackling than most on this board.
The slide itself wasn't as bad as the scissor. The scissor motion was terrible.

Then obviously you don't hate United more than everyone else.

I don't hate united but I can't believe anybody who watches the epl with regularity doesn't think that tackle should have been a red card. Even if Scholes wins the ball there, it's still a red due to the way he went into it, and in typical Scholes fashion he was nowhere close.

How much I hate United doesn't factor much into that tackle. Unlike what WSE said, what minute the tackle occurs should have very little bearing on the official's judgement if it is a clear decision which that looks like. It's very similar to the Shelvey red IMO.

What does which club you support have to do with what a red card is/isn't? You Man U fans are such twats, everything anybody says about man u y'all turn into some sort of victimization and end the argument feeling sorry for yourselves. If that match was wigan v stoke or Mexico v. Giuseppe Rossi and neven subotic I'd still think it was a red. The fact that it was united (Scholes) has nothing to do with it.

Well believe it. Because I exist.

His studs were turned away. The scissor was awful, I understand if you want to give him a red for that. I'm just saying I'm not so sure.

I was qualifying my statement. That's all.

I wasn't sure about Shelvey's red either. But you have to realize I've played my entire life on defense. I'm more inclined to just say play on.

Jesus fricking Christ people. I was just qualifying my statement to show that I should be biased the other way.

If both feet are off the ground all his weight is going into the tackle. It doesn't matter if he touches the ball, or his studs are up. A two footed tackle is supposed to be straight red because even if the tackler does everything correct it is still inherently a dangerous play. The Shelvey red was referenced, and it was definitely similar. Stuart holden is still not playing because of a 2 footed challenge (granted Evans did have studs showing, but the knee injury was caused by 180 lbs of force from Evans tackle)
