To slow down a pass rush, you have to utilize screens and draws. Not bubble screens, but WR screens as well as HB screens like Hill caught at Fla. People are giving the Oline a hard time, I don't care how good your o line is, if you are in the top tier in SEC defensively and you out number the offense in the box, you are going to make that oline look bad, very bad. If you are going to run the ball, you have to do it in multiple receiver sets, esp to one side. There is no one that will try to cover our WR without help over the top ( safeties ). So with that help over the top, the defense is forced to remove a defender from the box. Keep an eye out for this, esp if u watch the game from home. Draw imaginary line down the centers butt through the defense. Anybody such as center, NG count as a half, everybody else to either side of line is 1. Then break it down off vs def. If LSU has 2 1/2 on one and USC has 2 1/2 on one side, that is considered a hat on a hat and the offense will take that and should run to that side. Same numbers and LSU has FB in game, they should absolutely run that way bc the FB gives them a "hat" advantage. Hope that helps. Most of you probably know this but for the ones that don't, hope it makes sense.
