I was never a Jimbo fan. Oddly, LSU has not had what I consider to be a dynamic offense in a very long time - go back to DiNardo.
LSU's offense is effective when they are bigger, stronger and faster than the defense. Basically, these offenses win via recruiting, strength training and conditioning.
So in a year like this, with multiple injuries to starters, they are not always bigger, stronger and faster, and so the offense sputters.
Some offensive schemes are designed to create mismatches so that teams that cannot out "physical" their opponents can still score points. In baseball this is called small ball.
Right now LSU can't out physical Florida or Carolina. So they better get smarter.
Les?
