My camp is adjacent to the Corp property @ lock 2 . I was just there and talked with the chief h
ydrologist for the Vicksburg corp, he said it is stable now and the pictures they got were worse than the damage. He was very informative , spoke w/ us for 20 minutes .bottom line though is they were busy with other problems and this just" slipped through the crack" . If they would have opened those valves sooner there wouldn't have been a scare! I assume this means it won't happen again since it is on there radar, hopefully !!!!!!

I drove by there earlier today. One side of the lock has a good amount of erosion. They opened the valves and the water level in the locks is improving. People are now allowed to go back to their homes.
