....bottom line is the NFL wants the officials to work fewer games with a 2 1/2% net raise in pay and pay for their own pension. The last I heard the officials want the same number of games with a 5% raise (originally asked for 11%) and the league to co-pay the pension.
Somewhere in there is a workable deal and they need to get it settled.
