Actually, it is not publicly known what he was doing. The NCAA and LSU athletic administration have policy's to which they abide and I'm certain players are subject to advanced urine screens that will test for anything under the sun. Some diet pills are metabolized the body into methamphetimine- that doesn't mean that person was smoking ice.
My argument is that if the substance in question was "legal weed," it is still not something to be swept under the rug, due to nature of the chemicals active in it.

The long term effects of smoking these synthetic drugs might be just as bad if not worse.
Poison control has said that the synthetic bath salts is one of, if not the worst, drugs they have ever dealt with. (Per my friend in the ER)
