I went back and looked at the stats. I also believe the schedule and conference competition in 2011 was far better. I was there for both years. I know what I saw.

It was still the weakest position on that team IMO and on this team. I will give the 2003 team the edge though. I agree, I would take more of those linebackers than these. Alexander easily over Francois.

However, we also played a lot more nickel on this team with Ron Brooks and TM.

They were all good. But I would take Brockers, Mongtgomery, Mingo, Reid (wash with Landry), Claiborne, Taylor, and TM.

Did Mauck not set a record for single-season passing TD's that year?

He may have been the best utility QB to ever don the purple and gold.

I could go with either. 2011 was deeper but 03 had some solid backups as well. just can't see anyone putting one defense far above the other.
