you could be right and my comparison was based on this one game. 2003 did rank #1 in the nation in scoring D which in my humble opinion is the most important defensive stat.Of course you don't get that #1 ranking without pretty decent stats in most other defensive categories.
Where did the Tigers finish last year in scoring D?

I think last year was a bigger play defense. And I think our overall talent level last year was better.
