Just found a hardcover copy of The Hedge Knight graphic novel (the Dabel Bros/ Marvel ed) for $45 at a used book store in Houston...the clerk got red-faced when I brought it to her...told me to wait a moment...argued with some dude behind the counter for a bit, then finally checked me out. I couldn't help but ask WTF? She looked embarrassed and mumbled something about professional courtesy being dead, and that she had never seen that book before...I told her it's a good read, there are two more, etc...she cuts me off and says have a nice day (translation: eat shite and die)turns and resumes ripping poor dude...

Googled it on the way home...I guess she thought it was a 1st ed. or some shite - it goes for about $400.

Does anyone here know more than I do about it? Doesn't appear to be that great of a treasure - nice addition to the collection, but missing the dust jacket even.

Maybe she just needs more moon tea?

The same store had a signed 1st ed Storm for $220. I can't afford a $200 decoration...

I've been thinking about Jamie's redemption arc and I would like to see it include Jamie/Brienne rescuing Sansa and taking her to Jon Snow 2.0, and then Jamie coming full circle by pledging his life to Jon, Rhaegar's son.

But, of course, since I want this to happen, it definitely will not happen.

One more thought, if Jon were named the true King and he picked a Kingsgaurd, who would it be?

My Picks

-Jamie Lannister, "The Kingslayer": (for completion of hypothetical repemption arc)
-Brienne of Tarth: where Jamie goes, she goes. After all, she is his inspiration to gain back his honor.
-Bryden "Blackfish" Tully: Easily on of the best fighters and men ever. Personally, I saw him and Robb have a similar relationship as Jon and Qhorin. Additionally, I see this being brokered by Sansa Stark, after she may or may not be rescued by Jamie and Brienne or at the least requesting Jamie to have Edmure, his wife, and heir returned to either Riverrun or a place of Blackfish's choosing.
-Loras Tyrell, "The Knight of Flowers": After the fiasco that was Dragonstone, I believe that he is wounded and will heal or was totally safe to begin with and the nature of his wounds were exaggerated to satisfy Cersei. Furthermore, given the crazy bat that Cersei is combined with her attempts to displace Margery, I don't see Loras staying in this regime much longer. Not to mention Loras has always thristed for glory, so that might also motivate him to join Jon and fight the WW.
-Barristan "The Bold" Selmy: assuming that he survives the crossing of the narrow sea and then finds out and believes the truth of Jon's lineage, he will cross over to his side. This also means Dany realizing she isn't the entitled one. How that goes, no one knows.
-Benjen Stark: his uncle, and in this light he is coming back in a big way. My theory is that he has been operating as an agent of Bloodraven and the Children of the Forrest, scouring locations of dragonglass cashes and mines.
-?????

Anyways I put the chance of that happening from corset slim to none.
