That was very satisfying. For me the difference today was the absence of Downing, the presence of Suso and Gerrard playing below Sahin in the formation. The midfield felt like it understood the system.
The way Suso just dances past tackles at this age is amazing. I thought Sahin playing up allowed Gerrard to relax a little bit. Sterling was better in the second half.
The defense still hasn't completely bought into the system. There was a large gap between midfield and the defensive line every time we lost the ball. We did not close down and try to win the ball immediately after losing it. And the constant urge to pass the ball is leaving defenders in bad positions. But I am confident they will learn.
YNWA!
ETA Lucas coming back should help the defense but that is at least another month away and I think Lucas will be carefully nurtured in this time around.

It was our best performance of the season.
Bleh, we'll agree to disagree. I thought our defense was miserably horrid compared to the other matches we've played. It seems like most of the goals we've conceded have been better than the ones today. We were pretty poor with our completion rate in the first 25 minutes (admittedly, it picked up considerably). Norwich also probably had more legitimate scoring chances than any other team we've played this season.

Tons of chances created, Gerrard was on fire (created 5 chances on his own). Suarez was on another level that we haven't seen so far, and Sterling eventually settled in a bit later in the match.
I'll give you this. Offensively, we set the world on fire like we haven't seen in a very long time.

The back line still has problems though, and that is very concerning. The hole between Allen and the defense also has me worried. Lucas can't come back soon enough.
This is more what I was referring to. The defense MUST improve. It was worse today than I can remember.
In hindsight, I'll say it was a game of two thirds. The attacking third - our best game of the season. The defensive third - by far our worst. I guess being a person who plays CB and fullback, I notice that first and foremost, hence why I thought it was our worst of the season.

Really the only thing bad was the defending. I thought the midfield played tremendously, and our forwards' movement was phenomenal. Just phenomenal, and all mainly due to Suarez.
But the defending has got to play better. We allowed Norwich to score 2, and it very well could have been 3 or 4 ! Granted they probably allowed themselves to play a bit sloppy having been gifted such a lead.

The only problem I had with the midfield was the first 20 minutes. The passing was very sloppy. But they picked up up considerably as the game went on.

Congrats on the win today. I didn't see any of the game, but the commentary afterward said Pool was VERY good today.

Well statistically, it was the best passing match we've had in 20+ years.

I was very impressed by Wisdom. In the last couple of games he has shown he can make the step up.

Surely he has to have something good to say this time.

It was Norwich... But yes, we looked fricking good. It all starts here, I believe.

Yea, they're the worst team in the Prem IMO

I know Brendan downplayed the "new season" aspect of this game, but Jesus we played like it.
Today was proof that his system can thrive at a big club. Once these guys get on the same page with each other we are going to be fricking scary good.

Look, I don't come around and give your club praise often. The way your results have gone so far, I thought you all would at least be happy.

@LFCFansCorner: Just looked in the Dictionary for Nut-Meg, it says 'See Suarez'.
How many did he have today? 3? 4?
