Because you are convincing people that they will make butt loads of money, but you have to train them first. They want to train you by using your contacts to sell to, however you won't make money off of that. So basically all you are doing is giving them calls while receiving nothing in return except weaker family bonds. It may not be a scam for the policy holder, but it is for the salesman that gave the name to the company. It is very unethical all the way around which is why I have zero respect for the company or it's "employees".
