Health Insurance Question

I am switching job, I am a teacher. My school just informed me my insurance ends at the end of May. My new jobs insurance will not begin until August. My current employer said I can continue my HMO at around $520 a month. Obviously I would not want to pay that but I do not want to go uninsured either. What options do I have. Any recommendations? thanks

buy a major medical policy from blue cross for $100 a month until your new job starts

will something like that cover any prescription medicines? I only got one script so hoping thats not an issue

something cheap will likely have a 3k or greater deductible so your prescriptions will come out of pocket, it's to cover major stuff

Check the DOL FAQ below for some good info.

If you are going to go more than 63 days between employer coverage, make sure whatever you choose is "creditable coverage" to avoid any issues with preexisting conditions.
