Fiancé agreed to get me a 1911 for a wedding present so I need a little help with finding the one I want. Where can I find one like this and exactly what model is it?
Yeah looks like someone sent a mid 90s series 80 to Luke Volkmann for a build. 24 mo wait and about 3500 will get you it.
However, if you don't want to wait and want a semi custom still, you could get the Ed Brown Special Forces which looks similar aside from the serrates(vertical vs slanted) new is around 3K.
If you want to spend even less, you could go with a Springfield TRP in armory kote. It will also have forward cocking serrations and a magwell. $1500
Another option is to get a Colt series 80 for about $1000, have a competent 1911 smith properly cut a radius and install a beavertail, install a skeleton hammer and trigger, ambi thumb safety, and mill the slide and install novaks.
Or get a cheap Rock Island and pretend.

Volkmann website says $1750. I may get the "stock" Colt and add what I want to it, I don't need a match barrel and all the bells and whistles. I just really like the stainless barrel and trigger.
