I called LDWF and asked if catfish could be taken with a bow. He said it was an interesting question. He looked it up and called be back about 30 min later and said cats were fair game. I also thought you could take carp? Any truth in that?

both can be taken legally but you wont ever see a cat or a carp under the lights. All you will see are gar
