Donny Guerinoni's Role as a Coach of the Basketball Team

I like to follow the basketball team, but I am not as plugged in to how it actually runs from a coaching stand point. Every game, I notice Donny Guerinoni really take charge during timeouts as TJ is in the background in the huddle--involved but not the primary speaker for instance. Further, I will see he and TJ conference for the beginning of a timeout and that decision will be relayed to the team usually by Guerinoni.
Here's my question. Is Donny Guerinoni the primary strategy guy on the staff (even more so than Coach Johnson), the Tex Winter to his Phil Jackson, so to speak? This is not a swipe at TJ, though 90% of the comments that follow will likely make it that. I know Guerinoni has been with TJ for a while (and most of his career). Anyone notice that he seems to be x's and o's guy or can shed some light on how he and Coach Johnson interact and coach the team?

Good question and I have no idea.

im pretty sure he became trent's number 2 after richard left. not a big fan of his relative inexperience but he seems like a guy who could be on the rise.
other than that i think he works with the perimeter players (scott with the posts) not sure what nick robinson does.
wouldn't mind trent bringing in someone who can add some new ideas to the halfcourt.

To be honest I have no idea either, but just from what I've observed it seems like TJ is a hands off gameday coach, and allows his assistants to do a lot of the work on game day (nothing wrong with this imo). So you may very well be right.

Coach Guerinoni put in our new defensive system this year. He runs all the defensive stuff.
