Still doesn't make sense. How is it more valuable to keep him for a year and get nothing in return? He isn't signing an extension.

Stern's overlord attitude is shocking. It shouldn't be, but he's playing God here. He cannot force Chris Paul to sign an extension. He cannot force the Hornets to keep a player who doesn't want to be here, when we can significantly improve our team.

What part of taking back 65 million in shitty contracts do you not understand?

The new owner would have no chance to build a team he wants. He would be straddled with an 8th seed right at the luxury tax line.

We would have 5 mediocre players combing for 50+ million.
