We're not a QB driven system

That's why I ask, what if he comes in and completely changes our offense and we become unstoppable with the pass and the run. I honestly believe that next year will be very special.

I believe next year will be the most anticipated season of Tiger Football.

To the OP, here is what Coach Miles said in his Monday presser when asked about the QB position next year:

quote:

On the quarterbacks behind Jefferson and Lee...
The quarterbacks behind them such as Stephen Rivers is a six foot seven very capable thrower and a very bright young understudy. Zach Mettenberger, again in my opinion is really coming. He is a tough capable thrower, more athletic than when we first met him, he is getting stronger and leaner. That is a very good thing. Jerrard Randall is a multitalented guy that can play a number of spots. He is a very talented athletic style of quarterback that could also play wide receiver or possibly a secondary back. We need in this class a great quarterback. Frankly, there would be great opportunity considering we are graduating our top-two. There will be great opportunity at competition for a lot of playing time for a young talented quarterback. We're looking at a number of guys there and we're very optimistic.

Quote above from lsuports.net

It sounds like he is excited about Mettenbeger and also has a want to sign a top notch QB in February (Kiel?) and that there would be an opportunity for said top-notch signee to compete for PT.

Also, I found it interesting that Miles specifically mentioned that Randall could play other positions (specifically WR or DB).
