Not so fast. He now says he is directing something else.
Could be a ploy to get a larger payday or could be reality.

Never read the book, but remember watching the TV series, and thought it was pretty stupid

I'm not a big fan of the TV King work. Budgets are usually crap and they use flavor of the month tv actors and trim out the violence.
Gary Sinise was good and Dauber wasn't bad as Cullen but I wasn't a fan of Sheridan, Ringwald and ESPECIALLY Parker Lewis Can't lose.
I just don't see how this gets trimmed down to movie format. I wonder if they will shoot two films at once.
