So they smoked pot? What's the big deal? Will it make them lazy? Steve Jobs tripped on acid. O'Bama had a coke habit.
If they had been caught with pot, it would have been the equivalent of a traffic violation.
Some of you apparently must not remember what it's like to be 20 years old.
I'm not sure they deserve any suspension.

It isn't what they did, but that they did it when it is against the rules and detrimental to the team.
I think most people here don't really think smoking weed isa big deal.

The big deal is that it's getting them suspended right in the middle of big time SEC West divisional games. If they miss Bama for this, it's a huge deal. They are 3 starters and the team needs them.

Yes it is detrimental to the fricking team. You are a fricking STARTER and a BIG part of this team and you go out and do shite like this KNOWING you will get suspended if caught. That's the stupid part. If they were just college kids that weren't athletes representing the school in the midst of a possible championship season, it'd be different. If you want the glory of the limelight and praise of it, you have to be able to handle criticism and not put yourself in a bad position like this.

you're full of shite. It's about the team, the team, the team. Grand scheme of things, yeah, they just smoked weed, and the fans need to have a life above and beyond what some kids do on a football field.
However, rules are rules. The team suffers when players can't play because they violate rules, even if the rules are stupid. These players put themselves above the team in that way. No getting around that.
IDGAF if some of their teammates look past that. It's not about those teammates. It's about the team. This shite is fair game for judgment by people with maturity.

You're an idiot. Yes, kids do stupid crap. Yes, smoking pot's not that big of a deal. But when you're playing for a NC and you know you'll be suspended for doing it, why risk everything to do it. And why are you acting like that's ok? Where's the leadership from these guys?
