West Virginia Game Atmosphere + Other issues affecting this week

I'm not saying that WV is an "easy" place to play, but I have heard SEC-like.
Do the people (Herbstriet, et al) realise that:
1.) We play in these "SEC-type" atmospheres all the time. We call it Gameday.
2.) We prefer to play at night. Playing at night is not really an advantage for WVU. In fact it is probably a disadvantage for them - but only because we'll be in our comfort zone.
3.) Our players - especially our line have played against the 3-3-5 before, although with limited success. Its not like they won't understand the lessons being taught - nor their importance this week.
4.) Out defense is much better equipped to stop a passing game than a running game. We will see how that plays out in the game, though.
5.) Our "horse and buggy" offense has had some rather tight wraps on it - for good reason. We don't need to be fancy with this defense. Jarret Lee has only had about a month of being the guy - He says he prepares every week to be the starter, but come on, we know better.
6.) Not having Russel Shepherd so far has changed the nature of the offense. He may not be our best wide receiver, but he is one of our best playmakers and has to at least be accounted for.
7.) The defense is getting by so far on talent alone. We have a lot of guys playing key positions that have not played together. Once they get it, we'll be tougher to beat.
8.) Expectations are growing every week. We're sure to get WVU's best effort - just like last week against MSU.

We are still missing many assignments. We will get better. Read post game quotes from Brokers and Chavis.

Gameplanning and technique have been excellent, IMO. The first play of the MSU game was the textbook way to defend the option. Our guys have been well-drilled.

i think he was referring to the fact that they haven't played a lot of games together yet and are still building a chemistry which is why they will continue to get better with more games played

Smith will be the best QB weve faced IMO...
He doesnt do a lot of stupid shite, and is good about throwing the ball away if theres nothing there.
Our D-line is ridiculous though, will be a big difference for him and that line over the opposition theyve faced so far.
Their WR are little though, Reid might kill Tavon Austin if he comes across the middle.

Its a FAR cry from "we can improve" to "getting by on talent alone"
Hell, after Tom Brady's insanely good first game this season, he was pointing out that he needs to improve. Its what all the good ones do.

I'd guess that players on the team have played more big games during the day, I don't think this is an advantage for us at all at someone elses venue.

When I say rushing game, I am not talking about some spread offense. I am talking about a smashmouth SEC rushing offense - like Alabama's. Like it or not, this whole season is leading up to that game. During the way, our D needs to get better at assignments. And our linebacking play needs to be much better.
