I said their speed lacks because I was looking on y'alls official site for weights and scouting, and it said one of the backers (can't remember right now) was the fastest LB at an electronic 4.84. I'm not near a computer but I can link it later if you like.
I know but LMJ runs a 4.59 according to the site. Oregon's winter conditioning times are slow. Chung ran a 4.54 at the NFL combine but had a high 4.7's in winter conditioning. Maehl ran a 4.62 at combine but ran a 4.79 in winter conditioning. Those times are only good relative to each other.
This topic was discussed in a blog by Moseley, register guard beat writer, a poster said it had something to do with the thumb device they use. Anyway, our whole team looks slow on goducks.
Mathis ran a 4.74 in winter conditing and if you look at his profile he has a high school combine time of like 4.33 and an offer to Florida and Miami as a db. His strength was elite speed. If our line backers were .1 slower, that linebacker that ran that 4.8 is actually very fast.
Mathis is a kid that ran a 10.4 hundred meter in high school - Florida speed.

You can take those stats for what they are....just stats. Tacoi Sumler was "the fastest recruit in the country", yet I have heard that everyone one the team says DAT is the fastest on the field right now. Tacoi ran in the high to mid 4.2's. Don't know how that translates to football speed on the field.

Gotcha. I was pretty curious because I keep hearing about the defensive speed and if your fastest backer was a 4.8 then I wasn't going to be overly concerned. I still think it's weird they put that as "accomplishments"...so that's just where I was coming from.
