Memphis, let's flip the script. Say JJ was jumped and has three broken vertebrae and has to sit out at least a season. Should the BRPD blow it off because it was a bar fight?

Well since you put it that way. Charges would likely not have been pressed since JJ is a football player and it would play as a major distraction that he would likely want to avoid at all costs in preparation for the upcoming season as a SR QB.
