I have been hunting north of Kaplan for over 20 years. To say that it has changed would be an understatment! It seems that every 40 ac. field now has a blind. Getting to US 71, at times it has birds and others none. I would not pay 5500 for a blind there(from Opelousas). The folks from Baton Rouge jumped all over this area and pretty well f'ed it up for locals who know what it is worth. (a lot less than 5500!). However, I guess it is worth what someone will pay(I think along the lines of the greater fool theory). I hope you get your money's worth.

There in also lies a problem. Now that its gotten so expensive, folks feel they gotta go everyday to justify the expense. Then there are some who also feel the need to shoot at anything from 70 yards and further. They figure "what the hell, I paid $5500 and I'm gonna get my moneys worth and shoot at anything that flies." And of course, this only makes matters worse for the guy who also paid $5500 and is only 250 yards away.
