Another thing i would do if at all possible is afew weeks before you plant spray roundup to kill everything. We started doing this and our plots grow virtually no weeds. Makes a huge difference.

We roundup, disc, wait two weeks, roundup again, disc again, then plant. The first year we didn't do that and weeds took over our plots.
