I agree with getting them from a hatchery. I raised anywhere from 200-1000 chickens a time from 2004-2009.

I would not trust cl. Too easy to introduce disease into your flock.

Chickens are a fricken mess and they stink. We have a small coop, probably 10 ft long x 3 ft wide x 3 ft tall that a friend made. It is above the ground and movable. We only have 3 hens in there. We got "pip pips" last easter for lil spicy, but the neighbors dog somehow broke the door and ate the pips...

I used shovel the poop and mix it with dirt and put it in my flower bed, makes for some damn good fertilizer
