I am going for a company doing 1099 work..i am looking for a credit card that would reward me for mostly what i will write off at the end of the year..(lunch,gas,tools etc).

Amex has customizable cards where you can pick specialty areas and specific rewards and add them a la carte.

One other thing, hotel rewards offer much higher $ savings to $ spent ratios. Check out the Amex starwood card. You can get a $100/ night room for 6000 dollars spent. That's about 1.75% vs airlines or cash back that is around 1%
