The problem is not with the mature deer. You have to realize that the Does are dropping fawns this time of year and when they drop them and have to flee to higher ground the fawns cant always make it. The does will end up leaving the fawns which will result in them dieing. Also, dont be surprise if there is no deer season in much of the state next season.
