I do it sometimes in MS when I get antsy sitting the stand. If I know I'm in an area no one else is hunting, especially early season, I'll get out the stand around 8 and start sneaking around. I've jumped up quite a few does that way. Really helps you get a feel for your property as well.

Having hunted Colorado in the fashion you find most heroic I can tell you first hand that hunting in Louisiana is a LOT harder. And if you tried to do it like you do in Colorado you'd be one mightily frustrated hunter.

I'm gonna go glassing... ummm... from the top of that cypress over there I guess.
