Am I crazy...or do they have a pretty decent, young nucleus for the future?

Dunleavy is 31 and on the decline. Other than that, they have some great young players. The problem is they will not be able to attract a marquee free agent to put them over the top and they will not be drafting high enough to pick up another superstar (unless they get another Granger at 17 type steal). They are destined to be perennial 6-8 seeds, but hey at least they will be fun to watch. I hope they make a few national TV games next time the NBA comes around, whenever that may be.

Ya he was 3rd pick in the 2002 draft after Jay Williams/Yao Ming. He peaked in at around 27 and now he's slowly becoming less effective.

Collison, Hibbert and Granger were all kind of disappointing this year, but if/when they improve, the Pacers will be a perennial playoff team. Once they got rid of O'Brien, they played above-.500 ball.

Meh. Granger is a good player. Paul George has talent, think of like a Rudy Gay type player is his max ceiling. DC is a decent above average PG, don't think he'll ever be more than that. Hibbert is like a 14 and 6 guy, so nothing to get all excited about there.
Right now they have basically a bunch of C+ and B- parts with one solid B guy in Granger.
Honestly, they need to trade DC and Paul George and go get a legit PG. And then go get a big man down low who can actually rebound the basketball.

You can go on and on and on. It's a star league. It's extremely important to have one. The teams who win have stars, or usually 3 or 4 really good players. I'm also leaving off names like Dennis Rodman, David Robinson, Manu Ginobli, Tony Parker, Ray Allen, etc.
