If Ariza guards Kobe, who is Artest going to post up?
Seriously. Every time we put Ariza on Kobe in the regular season, they just posted up Artest and ran the offense through him.
We ended up starting out with Ariza on Ron and Marco on Kobe, which hurt. Even then I'm kind of OK with that. I think Kobe can get his. The key is shutting down Pau/Bynum/Odom somehow. One of the three killed us each game.

I think the key is scoring more points than the Lakers.

Yeah but that's a small price to pay. Artest isn't a game changer.
