This is kind of sappy, and I can't link youtube at work, but there is a 30 second scene in Mulan where the Dad talks to his daughter. He says
"Look, this flower hasn't opened yet, but I'll bet when it does, it will be the most beautiful"
It took me a while to realize that in 30 short seconds, Disney's magic had perfectly explained Mulan and her father's relationship. As someone who has a daughter, it has always stuck with me.
And I almost choke up everytime I think about it. Because it makes me think about my daughter. And what kind of father I want to be.
Speaking of Disney, the opening scene to The Lion King is incredible. There aren't even words spoking and the entire movie is set up. Amazing.

your mulan post made me think of the beginning of Up.
