I never said Bautista was overrated or on steroids or anything. In fact, if you look on the first page I said over. RBI's are not a "bad" stat where it means nothing, but I was just saying it is not the most effective measure of offensive production. I thought Bautista was very effective last year and whatever his job as a hitter is, he did a damn good of exceeding all expectations.

Never said that you said any of this... all i did was question why you said RBIs are overrated.. I just find it hard to believe that jose bautista value would increase if he had a high OBP and less RBIs.. yeah he could score more runs but someone has to get the hit to drive him in. walks don't win championships.

tony bautista

It is Jose. Are you thinking of Tony Batista?

Scoring runs helps win games and by not getting an out in a player's at-bat, you are increasing your chances to score more runs, which I am sure you know. Bautista's value came from the fact that he was crushing the ball last year and playing way better than what they paid him for.
