Haydels Bakery, Jefferson Highway (Grade B) Lacking in complexity and lack of flavor in the cake. Sucre, Uptown NOLA (Grade B+) Bread could have been more moist Manny Randazzos, Metairie (Grade A) Best cake thus far. Moist and full of cinnamon. Have had better icing but best overall thus far. Maurice's, Metairie (C-) DRY DRY DRY

^I agree with your assessment. I like Sucre's kingcake because it has more of a croissant/pastry type of taste. And normally I don't like cream cheese filling because most places put so much that it's goopy; but Sucre had the perfect amount.

BTW Manny Randazzo>>>>Nonna Randazzo. I haven't tried the Chalmatian Randazzo's kingcake yet.

The one in Chalmette was Randazzo's Goodchildren Bakery, they didn't re-open after the hurricane. The family members that ran that one opened Nonna's on the Northshore & just opened another Nonna's in Chalmette a couple of weeks ago.
