Our crappy play today and seemingly total unpreparedness was maddening at times but why the help should a 11-5 team have to travel across the country to a 7-9 team. This was a huge advantage for them that honestly I underestimated. There needs to be a seeing change bases on record. That's that. God I cannot get over this loss.

If Favre were our QB, this rule would be changed next year

Shoulda won your division.
But you're right, winning the division should guarantee a playoff spot, but the seeding can be fixed.

Nothing needs to change. One of the perks of winning the division is hosting a game. The Saints should have won the division, then we would have the bye and a home game. We didnt, so we traveled. I hate when everyone wants to change the rules because of one odd year. Just like how the OT rule changes after the NFCCG last year. bullshite.

I agree, we will be on the receiving end one day. I like how the NFL is set up. It would be boring if it was just a matter of picking the teams with the best 12 records.

The system is a joke no doubt. It's not the first time it's happened either. 12-4 Indy played at 8-8 SD in 2008.

I have hated this rule even when the Saints couldn't sniff .500. The best teams should be in the playoffs, & the best records should host home games. I (sort of) buy the argument that a division winner should make the playoffs (still think there should be a caveat where a division winner MUST have a winning record), but there should be no way in he'll a 11-5 team should EVER have to travel to a 7-9 team. I was against it when 11-5/12-4 Indy had to travel to 8-8 SD 2/3 years ago.

Which is a joke. When the NFL had 3 divisions per conference this shite wouldn't have happened.

This rule isn't the reason for the Saints loss. The defense is!
