Well we don't call is "humping" but it's close. The correct term is to "hump it", meaning you put your hands on your knees similar to a baseball infielder waiting for a play to start. The idea is that by leaning forward you are able to exert more vocal force down to the field. The air has a more direct route from your lungs so it's more efficient.
