Well we don't call is "humping" but it's close. The correct term is to "hump it", meaning you put your hands on your knees similar to a baseball infielder waiting for a play to start. The idea is that by leaning forward you are able to exert more vocal force down to the field. The air has a more direct route from your lungs so it's more efficient. Whether it works or not is debatable, but yet again it's something unique that we do, and something t-sips and the like attempt to twist into some type of negative, although the foundation of the concept is admirable.
