Bitterman is touting the Acadiana/STM game as the most important football game in Lafayette history.

IMO, STM vs. Northside semi-finals at STM in 2004 is still bigger... Especially since there was a brawl between the ENTIRE 2 teams two years prior, racial tensions were still high, and STM/Northside had become a huge rivalry... STM was the no.1 seed and beat Keiland William's Vikings by 3 scores at Northside in the regular season, but the Vikes won the semi in 2OT... That game was a pure classic

IMO, STM-Acadiana is way bigger because these two teams are the best teams they have ever had and whoever wins has a good shot to beat WM. Neither Northside nor STM was going to beat John Curtis in 2004.
