1-3 and 5 are all Pac-10 teams
Computers like to see teams play BCS schools. The Pac-10, due to its round robin, plays a 9 game in conference schedule. In contrast, the SEC and most other major conferences, play an 8 game conference schedule.
If a Pac-10 team schedules 1 non-conference game against a BCS school, it will have an advantage, SOS wise, over an SEC team that schedules 1 non-conference game against a BCS conference school by virtue of the extra conference game.
Is this really fair? Depends on how good the Pac-10 is conference-wise. This year, Oregon and Stanford are pretty good. Every else is competitive and only Wash State sucks.
