That's a good question, and your position is valid. I respectfully disagree, however.

1. Regional pride. I remember all those years when the SEC teams were considered second tier by the sportscasters who loved ND, Ohio State, USC, Michigan, etc. The return of objectivity via the BCS has laid waste to those prejudices, and I for one will always chant "SEC!" when I'm at a game where an SEC school puts a beatdown on one of those pampered pretenders.

2. If LSU does well it does not affect recruiting that significantly for other SEC schools to do well also. A kid who is leaning LSU/Ala is not going to make his choice because we finish #5 and bama finishes #2. If he does he's an idiot. And if we all finish well it enhances the conference reputation for all of us.

3. I draw the line at cheaters. I will not pull for Auburn in any postseason games this year.
