What would happen if LSU wins out and Auburn loses out?

I know it is a long shot both ways but I was curious.

I think that is our only shot at the BCS national title game. Still a long shot.

South Carolina would go to the Sugar. We'd have a longhsot at large bid to possibly the Orange. Otherwise its CapOne again.

I would have to think that if this happens, it may hurt our strength of schedule enough to knock us out of any BCS game. CapOne or cotton (prob CapOne) it would be.

I know it's possible to have two conference teams in the BCS, but doesn't one of them have to be in the NC game? If USC goes to the Sugar, I'm not sure that LSU or AU could go to another BCS game..??

I have a feeling Boise will stumble against Nevada. If that happens and we win big this weekend there is a chance we more closer to that 4th rank spot. TCU has a bye then they play New Mexico st. Their weak schedule will come back to haunt them

LSU would remain in the BCS top #4 and get an at large BCS invite to one of the 4 BCS bowl games. As SEC champions the Cocks will get an automatic invite to one of the BCS bowl games. In that scenario (depending on Oregon, TCU and Boise) USC would go to the Sugar and LSU probably to the Orange.

OK. Thanks for the updates. Now lets add something to the mix......

Boise gets beat by Nevada (longshot) and Oregon gets beat by Oregon State or Arizona (longshots as well). We win out; Auburn loses out. TCU is undefeated?

Thoughts? I guess I am smoking something strong this morning.

It would kill me, but you'd likely see TCU vs. Big 10 (Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan State, Iowa) or Big 12 (Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State)

Still plenty of one-loss teams that can and would jump us if the voters don't want a nonconference champion to play.

Good point. I just don't see how we could drop in the computer if we win out. Oh well; I think we need a playoff.
