Any good BBQ in Columbia SC, particularly near downtown?

Palmetto Pig is a great place near the downtown/USC area...probably my favorite in the city. It's got a lunch buffet of your usual pulled pork, hash, fried chicken, green beans, etc. I know the lunch hours are kind of odd, so you may want to call, or check a website before headed there. Doc's Barbecue and Little Pig's Barbecue are pretty solid, but aren't really in the downtown area. From a Columbia native, stay away from Maurice's. Hope it helps

Little Pigs is excellent. They serve an all you can eat buffet for like 7.99. They have pulled pork with a traditional carolina mustard sauce, a tomato based sauce, and a vinegar sauce... Call first because their original location had burned down last time i was there. They have a second location just a few miles outside of Columbia tho. Like the poster said earlier, stay clear of Maurices..For some reason they are world famous and have locations all over the Colombia area but have some of the worse bbq i have ever had.....
