True. It is not just Jefferson's fault that we don't run the option well. The whole offense is out of whack when we run it. The QB needs to be cutting upfield rather than running laterally or backwards, but the blocking is insufficient for him to do so. The defensive ends almost always penetrate into our backfield on the option and Jefferson is forced to run around them. By this time, the linebackers and corners have come up to pressure Jefferson and cover the running back.
