About to head out to see this one. I loved the first three movies as well as the video games, so I'm a bit of a homer when it comes to opinion of the movie.

Just went and saw it - as far as plot goes, if you've never watched the series before then don't waste your time. Arcadia means nothing to you, but is a HUGE point of interest in the previous film. I guess that's why the critics are slamming it so hard, they don't know why they are struggling so hard to get there for.
The 3d was pretty freakin' amazing. Fight scenes were awesome.
Dialogue was pretty bland, which I understand the critics are bashing them for. Some pretty cheesy typical action movie lines sporadically used. But, when you're on the run from zombies and hunting the Umbrella Corporation for four years, I'm sure that your sense of humor and emotions are pretty out of whack.
I liked it, but then again I love the series. Like I said earlier though, if you haven't watched the previous films - don't waste your time or money. This movie does nothing to bring newbies up to speed on what has been going on in the series. There are just one or two flashbacks.
I give it an 8 out of 10.

Oh my dear God. I started a thread before I saw this thread.
If you thought that movie was an 8 out of 10 then . . . I just don't have the words.
Really? 8 out 10?
Really?

just got back from seeing it.
This movie sucked balls. Was a huge fan of the first two movies and love the video games and backstory..
but ...this movie was just plain aweful. It jumped forward to much without explaining anything and apparently it was only an hour long. ....wtf.
