Does anyone know if there is a public place to crab in Lake Palourde area, on the way to Morgan City. Years ago you could crab using set nets from the bank. I don't know if this area still exists or not. I have a small boat and am looking to launch it and crab close to the bank or even from the bank. Anyone who knows your advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

They have the entire area right off of La 70 across from the levee open to the public. Some of it has been turned into a camp ground with camper spaces but there is plenty of space to park and launch a small boat by hand. If you need a ramp to lauch, you will have to into the park and pay.

I am sure it will be very crowded around there this weekend with the Shrimp and Petro festival in Morgan City.

Thank you very much! I don't need a launch, its a ten foot aluminum bato. I was hoping there was still an area like that. I did not know if it was private or not. Appreciate the advice.
