My point:
1. In state parents already get a huge benefit for the taxes they pay. I have no problem with it.
2. LSU is a regional university. You are bordered by 3 states. 2 of them are dumps. Offering more money is not going to suddenly attract the top students outside of a few close states. LSU is not a strong name. Nobody who is a top student here is thinking LSU. And this is an SEC state.
3. Attracting out of state alumnus children is a great start to spreading the LSU name around the country.
