UNC Special Teams......

It seems that LSU and UNC almost mirror each other as teams (uncertainty on O and hanging their hats on a hard nosed D).
So my question to anyone out there with any insight is how are the UNC specialist (Kicker and Punter).
I really think this will come down to a battle of field position and was curious what they had in that phase of the game.....

I would say UNC special teams are good but not great. Our punter (Shallott)averages 40+ yards per punt with very little return. Although he has not had a punt blocked, he is tall so it seems to take him a while to get it off. LSU may try to exploit that. Our punt return team does well so I would say punting may be a push. I feel we suffer on kick offs and kick off returns. Our kicker rarely kicks it to the end zone so opponents can usually return kick offs past the 25 yard line. If LSU can kick to the end zone, I would say you will have the advantage. However, I saw video of a potential walk-on kicker who was putting kick offs through the uprights. I have heard nothing about him through the first 2 weeks of practice however. Maybe he can't report until school starts. Our place kicker (Casey Barth) is accurate to 45 yards. Would hate to count on him for a game winner outside that although Butch said in an interview that Barth can hit out to 52 yards.

Patrick Peterson will dominate the UNC special teams...that is all.
