My personal choice to replace CLM would be Pelini. I'm not sure we could get him, but I think we at least have to make him say "no".

2010- Miles out during the season
2011- Pelini in

Pelini has been the BR twice already, and wants desperately to get out from under Tom Osborn's thumb. There are many $$$ guys offering to pay off LM's contract to get him out. If we perform poorly early on, he'll be out during the season. If we are decent, he'll be out at the end of the season. I hope we do well, but my guess is he's gone during the season. The rest of this post isn't a guess.

According to an "anonymous" member of TAF's board of directors, 8 wins and Miles is out, 9 wins and he still may end up unemployed. Pelini, who is a very close family friend, said he would "Crawl back to Baton Rouge if Miles gets the boot." The fact is, Bo loves Baton Rouge but could not stand CLM- at all. As for potential coaches, Gary Patterson tops the list, then Muschamp, then Pelini. With the Richt situation boiling over in Athens, many believe Muschamp could make a return to his alma mater. Obviously, no one knows what will happen considering that there is still another season to be played. I don't know about Miles leaving during the season, personally, I believe that may be pushing it. Also, there ARE plenty of big money guys who would help pay off CLM's contract to see him leave. Between Todd Graves and Bob Kirchoff, there's enough money to pay off CLM's contract and hire someone else. Now, I don't know how they feel about Miles, but the fact of the matter is these are only 2 of the 90 individuals that have the most pull in TAF and deal with a large portion of the funding. As for Alleva, he has a much stronger supporting cast than he did at Duke, hopefully* drastically decreasing the odds that he had at Duke of making a hiring mistake. Regardless, we can only be optimistic for the time being and do the best with what we have. GEAUX TIGERS
